On May 31, 2026, Rodney was involved in a motorcycle accident that left him with multiple fractures in his lower left leg, multiple spinal fractures, as well as six broken ribs. He was transported by air ambulance to Washington Regional in Fayetteville, where he was almost immediately carted away to the OR to repair the breaks in his leg. Three days later, he was back in the OR so the neurosurgeon could repair the unstable fractures in his thoracic spine. He spent a total of eight days in the Neuro ICU, an additional two days in the hospital after leaving the ICU, and eight days in inpatient rehabilitation. He also gets the added bonus of wearing both a neck brace and a back brace for another 10 weeks to support the lesser fractures in his spine that did not require surgical repair. We are all endlessly grateful for the progress he's already made and for the wonderful medical team that helped him along, but it will still be a long process.
Quite a few folks have asked what they can do to help. We truly appreciate all the messages, check-ins, and support. We decided to keep things simple and handle contributions directly. For anyone who'd like to contribute toward medical and recovery expenses, the information is below.
